Re: question reguarding the bpoints on your lience

You are on the eight ball there munchkin. If you do not accumilate one demirit point for 1 year, you are ok. HOWEVER if you gets moreethan one demerit point during this period then your license will be disqualified for a period DOUBLE than what it would have been.

Re: Main Roads Highway Emergency Response Ops to have Priority 2

"Drive Vehicles Under Operational Conditions" PUAVEH 001A is offered to FESA firefighters and to my knowledge is required to be completed before driving under emergency con. by fesa rules FRS perhaps (WPXZBP?). FESA can't place restrictions on what BFB's etc can do, as they don't own them...

Re: General fire discussions

So you honestly believe that if a CLP or a TTL was required that they would turn out a LT with a 9ft ladder on the back? Do you think it may have been more plausible that the photo was staged to highlight the issues. There is no way that a LT with a 9ft ladder on the back would EVER be turned out. B...

You sure about this? I find this very hard to believe.

wascanner, no such thing as a series 3 HP. The current (old)HP are refered as series 1 HP, the new ones series 2 HP.

Re: General fire discussions

Looks like the arm chair experts are starting to come out again. How can you make an informed decision about the incident based on a 2.45 video which only shows one side of the incident? How to you come to the conclusion there is only 2 lines out? From the video I can see 2 lines working from behind...

Re: Car V Car, UQ102/UQ115/Os Park/SJA

hmm, no one on the hose reel, thats a no no. I'd suggest that before you make comment about tatics, you get ALL of the facts first. What was the risk of fire? There may be no fuel leak, battery disconnected, so reisk of fire is very low? Maybe they had to get the person out NOW, so all hands are ne...

Re: Other incidents/minor fires etc - 2008/2009

Buddah, its not the career stations to you that get turned out, it is the stations closest to the incident that get turned out. Saying that I am not sure exactly where the incident was, and what distance it was from Rockingham or Maddington ot the incident. However it is not unusual for Rockingham o...

Wes

I believe the ERF would just be called a platform, not ladder platform. There is no ladder running up the side of the boom.

Re: DEC Hazmat Pollution Response Vehicle

Smithy, just because a vehicle can be a first responding vehicle doesn't automatically mean it needs red & blue lights. From memory red and blue lights are reserved for vehicles that are responding to situations where human life may be reasonably considered at risk or harm. Police, Ambulance and...

Re: Metro Fire Stations

Kylep. All the MPHR have 2 seats in the back. I think there is only 2 or 3 (not exactly sure) MP that have 2 seats in the back (not sure of the fleet number this started at). One was a new MPHR that was re-commisioned as a MP. It would appear that the new HP have 2 seats.

Re: Earthquake in Melbourne

Although earthquakes are rare, they are not that uncommon in Victoria. The area where the current series of earthquakes have occured (there have been two 4.5 earthquakes in the last couple of weeks plus after shocks) is known to have at least one earthquake a year. There is talk that a much larger e...

FRS not FESA

Unfortunately there are alot of peole on this site who persist with calling FRS personal FESA. To put it simply, firefighters take offence to been call FESA. It is clear that many people who take photos of FRS vehicles, who claim to know all about the FRS procedures and operations, have never spoken...

Re: Is anyone attending today

Not getting into a slanging match. It is a bit rich to claim FESA was there supporting the police when they were ordering crews back on station who were showing their support. FESA in no way has promoted or shown any support for this cause. The F/F were there as a result of their union calling for s...

FESA wasn't there. The FRS was there. FESA are the ones who orderd the FRS trucks back to station.
