Re: Interference on signal
An update: - Popped an antenna on a handheld and stuck it on 146.700 listening to the news. Really quite bad interference and next to no reception using an antenna in or just outside of the house compared to the antenna on the roof. Walked out the front and down the street about 20 metres and voila ...

Re: Interference on signal
Roger, if I'm about I'll listen to the news. Yes using the X-50 to listen to CB as well. Don't have any PV installed here and from a quick glance none of our immediate neighbors do either.

Interference on signal
Have setup a new Diamond X-50 antenna on top of the roof and run some LMR195 to it (approx 20m of cable) but I am getting interference every so often and can't quite figure out what it is. When listening to VK6RAP and VK6RTH on 2m it seems to chop in and out. Sample audio of this mornings broadcast ...

Re: System Fusion Yaesu Stuff
VK6RTH is Fusion. VK6UU knows a fair bit about them if you wanted to get in contact with him. VK6RTH will swap between digital out/analog out depending on the input signal.

Ah roger.
Try listening at night maybe between 1930-2130 as that's when most units are out training.

Re: Which scanner should I use ...?
Running an R pi model B here and it's working well on raspbian, rtl-sdr and multimon-ng. Just using a NooElec RTL-SDR dongle that I got for about $10

Yep no CTCSS required for listening. Shouldn't be any pirates on those freqs transmitting without a tone.

Re: ACMA investigation leads to destruction of radios and fi
doing this for 15+ years without any real ACMA action They're a lot more leniant than I thought they were. I thought first offence, sure a stern warning, but second offence reported = feds at your doorstep with an inspector and confiscation of gear. Isn't it an arrestable offence as well because it...

Re: ACMA investigation leads to destruction of radios and fi
Fairly sure there's a lot of that going on over here on the CB repeaters around Perth. Either that or a bunch of people have a high gain directional antenna pointed at the repeater and don't live far from it. I find it odd how he kept doing it after being issued a warning. Thankfully we have license...
