As the name suggests "Workcare SA" and as "Workcare W They provide emergency ambulance services to workplaces etc with rehab transfer to hospitals At least they wont have to worry about getting a ambulance license here because it does not exsist in SA its a gard nut to crack to get in...

Just on a SJA Op's note when the first aiders get called out to do stand bys like fires is it on first come first served or just ring who ever to go.

I have to say being taught by an ex police pursuit driver was "different" they have changed the course now so your in the ambo the full 5 days and not just the last lol unfortunatley some people in my class tried to drive the ambo like a car

Southlaker, St John Ambulance WA stipulate that all windows of the vehicle are to be closed whilst driving under Priority One conditions. Helimedic Just on that note it would be interesting to know as to whether SJA vollies and other private providers have there staff do the 2 week driver training ...

Sounds like a transfer from RFDS, i spotted one sunday going down St Georges Tce under lights n sirens, im assuming with patient in the back as i only saw the driver. It was the Merc anyways

SJA is not for profit hence why they collect govt funding/grants to run the service then bill ie: patients/health dept etc. The board would need to be made up off members who did not in anyway have there hand in pocket off anyone they were involved in for contracts unless it was disclosed prior. SJA do look at Volunteer work, if you become a Volunteer Ambulance officer and work in places like Mandurah, along side paramedics, you get to see the action up front, However mandurah is alot of shipping old people about the place.
