Re: FESA Support Vehicle

Re: WesternPower

Just wondering, if Western Power can go lights & sirens, why havn't they legislated that they can use Red/Blue lights as opposed to the current SES style scheme of Red/Red? I am aware that Western Power are classified as a Lifeline agency, not a Combat agency like FRS is, but why are the Western...

Re: Kalamunda shire Fire crews

The Shire Of Busselton has something similiar, they have a "Fire Management Officer" whom looks after hazard reduction, risk managemant etc, and is usually the Incident Controller of large incidents, and as this person is a career FRS station officer, is also very experienced in the role. ...

Re: Unmarked Police Vehicles

Was driving on the Kwinana Fwy the other day, and was passed by a white Camry driven by a uniformed WAPOL officer and equipped with rear deck lights. Is WAPOL using Camrys or something to suppliment the fleet of commodores?

Pumper Hose reels

Now i know this sounds like a stupid question, but what is the point of having hose reels aboard pumper type appliances (Urban Pump/Medium Pump etc.) You are not constantly unwinding the reels, giving it some water, and winding the reels back up and moveing the vehicle like you do during bush fire o...

Walked past Perth Station on Friday, and noticed that all bays were empty save for the old USAR truck sitting by it's self.

Looks like the union lost out on this one...

Re: W.A Fire Appliances

CobCob, The career FRS have been trialing a 1.4 equiped with rescue/hazmat gear with the concept of this unit could replace LT's in remote towns, with this appliance attending road crash rescues leaving the main pump on station in town. The last i've heard, the CFRS 1.4 trial unit has been shuffled ...
