For life experience I'd recommend doing some time in the military full time or reserves. You'll never see a Tatra in FESA service, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, there's a reason why FESA use Isuzu chassis for almost all volunteer brigades. Isuzus are extremely common, so maintaience and sourcing spare parts is very easy - not something you can say for having an imported Czech chassi...

That said, I think they have a religious exemption rule with those regs, as I know Sikhs are allowed to keep their beards.
