Re: Ch 10 helicopter

Well I won't deny it's many years since I last did camerawork from a chopper, so I guess it's been brought in since then.

Re: Ch 10 helicopter

First TV pilot I've seen wearing a helmet. Bet he's glad he was.

Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements

The last ever parachute drop from a RAAF C130H was done over Ocean Reef yesterday - heard the pilot announce it! The RAAF is retiring the H model at the end of this month.

Re: Broome WAPol on digital yet?

Thanks for the advice. I'd been asked to program a scanner to send up there, I loaded those two frequencies into it but couldn't guarantee they'd hear anything.

Uniden scanner on sale for $25

I was at DSE in Innaloo today and they had the Uniden UBC330CRS on sale... at $25.

It might not set the world on fire performance-wise, but it's still a new scanner. Good opportunity to get into the hobby very inexpensively.

Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements

It's a survey aircraft. Sometimes called the 'flying Hills hoist' because of the wire antennas that go from wingtip to nose and tail. Goes slightly faster than a tractor, and is about as aerodynamic as one! Probably the one referred to in this NOTAM: LOW LEVEL AERIAL SVY IN AREA 10 TO 30 NM WEST OF ...

Re: RAAF Air Show at Pearce

Caught some very scratchy comms on 279.8 this morning. Possibly using callsign 'Cannon' which I understand is assigned to the 1 Sqn F/A-18F.

Re: RAAF Air Show at Pearce

There will be a Roulettes display over Cottesloe tomorrow afternoon - good opportunity to see what frequency they're using (has been 136.2 in the past).

Re: Navy activity

I see in the media today that Australia/New Zealand navy exercises will be happening in the next few weeks.

Search 225-400 mhz and be patient, you may be rewarded.
