Re: RESCUE 65 Observations

I heard Perth Approach yesterday ask Rescue 65 to keep an eye out for 'Huey traffic', a helicopter doing power line cleaning.

Re: RESCUE 65 Observations

Went down to the Esplamade (near the Bell Tower) and yep, the chopper was there. Got to see everything up close, chatted to the pilot - even sat in the pilot's seat!

A new frequency in use today: 265.1. Sounds like it might be the RSAF.

Re: New to Scanning community, live North of river.

You can also try 119.5, 119.7, 133.1, 134.6 and 134.8. These ones don't usually crank up on a weekend, though: they train Monday to Friday then take weekends off.

Re: Home set-up

Re: Home set-up

It's called CC780 and it can be downloaded from here: http://kotisivu.dnainternet.net/pa255/ Look for CC780 version 2.67a. The developer is actually Finnish but it's all the operations are in English. Considering it's free, you get some good features but pretty much no technical support. I've also t...

It also provides a summary of the day's activity (which frequency it received and how many times) so when I g...

Re: Surf Lifesaver Helicopter

I think you'll find that at those times of the year when the patrols aren't happening (i.e, the non-summer months) the helicopter goes back into the operator's fleet, available for charter like all their other aircraft.
