Re: Uniden UBCD396T - and trunking

Hope the new radio is treating you well Yorky, sorry I didn't get around to posting the pics of the cable but it sounds like you don't need them now. I've never looked at Trunkview before but reading the last few posts has got me interested, so I'm gonna give it a go too.

Re: Digital transmissions on the WAERN

You appear to be right on the money observer. The transmissions I am receiving on the same frequency today are mostly coming up as encrypted signals.

Digital transmissions on the WAERN

Not sure if this is a hint of things to come or if any of you have heard the same?? Today I received P25 digital transmissions on 162.8375MHz, which is listed as DEC channel 516 (Canning Mills). The transmissions sounded to me like fairly informal basic radio checks and discussions regarding the P25...

Re: Trunk scanner

What is the end on the radio side of the RS232? Couple of the sales don't come with a cable and I'm trying to see if I can make/use my own. And I take SMA-Male is the connector required then? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BNC-female-SMA-male-plug-coax-connector-adapter-/220572875486?pt=AU_Computers_Networ...

Re: Trunk scanner

Yep Ive had this one for a couple of years, the cable is an RS232 serial and the software is downloadable from the Uniden website. The connector you suggested will not suit as the SMA side is the wrong 'sex' i.e. that part in the picture is the same as what you will see on the radio.

Re: Trunk scanner

I have found this to be a trusty and reliable bit of gear and it definitely ticks all your boxes - http://www.uniden.com.au/australia/p_ubcd396t_index.asp#features The only thing I am not so keen on is the SMA antenna connector. You can of course use an adapter as I do for BNC, but I have had the &q...

Re: Suggestions please?

Cheers, I actually have 163.4 for Ch7. Yours looks like the receive but I couldnt check as the ACMA site is down. I guess being in Tuart hill you may be hearing stuff that I don't anyway? Thanks for the others, I have a couple already but a few I don't and I'll give them a go. I think theres a list ...

Re: Suggestions please?

Thanks Richard, Do have your air-ground link frequencies for Channel 9 and 10 handy? I hear a bit from 7 but nothing from the others, so I'd like to check mine against yours. As far as trunking goes, have you compiled a list of known systems and TGID's at all? I have just started one again myself as...

Suggestions please?

Gday all, I'm in a scanning rut  It feels like it is a long time since I found a new and interesting frequency to listen to, even after hours of trawling the ACMA site and doing band scans. So I was hoping you all might care to share what it is you all are listening to, or if you have found an...

Re: Looking for a Scanner around the $250-$400 range

Hi ben
A search of the relevant forum topics should turn up the frequencies you are after. Have a look here to get you started, http://warsug.info/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5454 and feel free to ask questions about anything more specific you cannot find in these topics.

hehe..thats is probably the most interesting photo ive seen on the site in ages. I find it cool to see things that we don't normally get to see, no matter how 'unexciting' they may be. Cheers for posting

Re: 163.285

163.285 went quiet a little while back. I have since found these guys operating on 163.6125 MHz (Charlie callsigns)
