Re: Looking to get licensed

Brilliant, thank you. I'll probably end up going for the May 11th one so that I have more time to study both the subjects, and I assume that the paperwork is for the ACMA, right?

Looking to get licensed

What sort of resources would be good for studying to get a foundation license, I can't find many good resources online. I already have a club in mind, PARG, but I don't know what the process is like. If anyone could link a video or something of the sort of things that are covered in the exam. Thanks...

Strange activity on CB 07

Whenever I have my scanner running through the CB channels, it stops on channel 7 for some morse code. This isn't the first time I've heard it but I thought it'd be worth asking here. Don't know what it translates to though, haven't been able to.

Anyone going to 2019 SkyWorks?

Anyone planning on going to SkyWorks with their toys? I know I will, even though I'll be limited to scanning and CB channels :(

Digital Decoder software

Is there any software that'll take aux in and decode digital radio on from an analogue radio, similar to DSD+?

6DS and VKI link

I was speaking to my dad, full-time career Ambulance Officer, about the radio system for St John's, and he said something about the two radio networks being linked. VKI can only listen and not the other around. Anyone know a bit more about this?

JAD ATIS

How come the ATIS on the radio and the ATIS on the phone have a different voice?

Re: Public Transport Frequencies and Links

Any Baofeng would work, although you need a radio license to own one, but I can't personally recommend any radio aside from the Uniden UBC72XLT and the EZI30XLT.

Re: Public Transport Frequencies and Links

Any sort of scanner that will do the UHF band. Try looking at somewhere like Cash Converters for a second-hand scanner, I recently picked up a BC72XLT for about $70.
