Re: Underground busport
On all three northern carriers Path 490.450/Veolia 490.500/Swan 470.375 there might be others that I wasn't listening to that also service the bus port.
EDIT: Not much regarding the bus port after that night I think that was just because of system malfunctions they were doing things more manually.

Re: Underground busport
Interesting listening tonight, buses calling Bus port Control on normal channels, only one sided conversations I'm guessing persons at the bus port were transmitting on talk around/simplex. Made the dispatchers job a lot harder hearing these calls on the same channel.

Re: Boxes on light poles - freeway and forrest highway
Couple of different ones I'm thinking of that you might be talking about. At that height at intersections they are usually sensors for vehicle or pedestrian movements. How or what they do though I'm not sure. Some high up on light poles on highways I believe are part of traffic monitoring and counti...

Underground busport
Hi all, just had a thought. With buses going underground in the new few weeks, what radio communications will they use while under there? Bus's are often communicated with when on stand and I imagine it would be hard to get an existing signal under there. Will they have repeaters?

We will just have to watch tonight then!
Siren can't be any worse than the current ambulance type... Wail sounds so depressing.

Re: equipment advice
5000 acre's is a massive amount of land to cover with ground to ground radios (without a repeater up high). Do you have many hills or trees on the land? If there are hills, UHF will pretty much die without good line of sight. Also depends what the earth is consisting off (some ground absorbs radio s...

Not sure how, but it depends if the radios have the feature enabled or not. It's also possible the feature is enabled but the GPS isn't actually attached.

If you are in a good high location any good antenna will do. Do you have anything at the moment or need to buy one? Just look for a VHF antenna mainly for those services.

Re: Broadcastify scanner
Hi Jen, Perth is the southwest of WA! To provide the streams takes multiple radios and associated costs and bandwidth. To save there needs to be multiple frequencies on a stream, and one of them you simply need to change between left and right speakers in your player as they are split. It also depen...
