Re: General fire discussions
There are still less resources in the metro area, It's just an interesting observation that FESA seemed to have changed their procedures for mobilising resources to areas well outside metro areas. Was wondering the same thing, even if there were properties under threat which is what they normally g...

Re: ABC news: FESA going to digital radio in the metro area
What though is sensitive or secret about fire fighting, or am I missing something? Rubbernecking is a problem, but a fire is going to draw crowds no matter what - they're big and kinda hard to keep secret :) Its not only fires we attend, what about RCR, Clan drug labs, house fires, special service ...

Re: W.A Fire Appliances
what happens if the closest career is 20 mins away! The same as it does now, the next closest station/brigade attends. This option gives more appliance, more often available to attend quicker, and hopefully get on top of the fire to prevent further loss to life, property or environment, and less ti...

Re: ABC news: FESA going to digital radio in the metro area
So probably a stupid question, but wouldn't having the metro area using digital waern and "rural" using analogue waern, wouldn't that add to the already poor communication on any fire grounds that they both attend? It would be hard to know where to draw the metro/country boundary I would ...

From what I hear, they will be career FRS 2.4's located on the fringe stations such as Ellenbrook, Midland, Welshpool, Armadale etc to enable greater and timelier first strike capability.WPXZBP wrote:Hazard a guess, something like a 2.4. They won't be ready until the end of the summer fire season.

Re: General fire discussions
you just go get water and leave and come back. No need to call up 6ar/ip Again, another person is missing the point. If anyone calls the comcen it is because they are on the wrong channel. They must be informing their sector commander that they are leaving the fire ground. This is not rocket scienc...

Re: General fire discussions
yes, just like the frs does. Never heard of the FRS charging for attendance at fires. They provide a community service, funded by the tax payers. I would suggest that the ARRF would do the same, being funded by the Commonwealth Govt. I know noone that has ever been charged for house fires, bushfire...

May only need more LT's, 2.4/3.4's etc, but not another pump. Happens all the time in CFRS world.colin wrote:Buttler have just called in 1st alarm property, arrival code 88.
How can you have 1st alarm, and still need more resources?

Re: Volunteer FRS uniforms
Secondly they don't march in "Permie replica eppilattues". Like all other teams at the championships, they march in their standard dress uniform as issued by FESA.. I wish to correct this statement. I have personelly seen a certain VFRS brigade marching at the Easter championships wearing...

Re: Firies in the Hills
all i can say is does it matter if it's a red or white truck, paid or not paid? Average turn out time for volies is 8 to 12 mins from the pager going off, not to bad when you really think about it, and have you see the video's of the FRS boys turning out. They casually get dressed and then turn out...

You wont see a balanced, fair debate on a topic like this unless you remove both of those groups from the discussions/debate and leave it to the residents.

Re: Firies in the Hills
Personally, I'd treat that radio show with about as much credibility as Today Tonight or A Current Affair. Lots of people with little clue, spouting off about things they know nothing about. Can you please elaborate what the clueless people do not know about? Do you not agree that a bushfire bearin...
