Re: FESA frequencies

I just noticed the WAERN pdf contains some additional repeaters, channels 371 - 380. Anyone know if these are 'live' and what if any of the old repeaters (mid band) they link to? They are "live" as you put it and link to the old channel e.g. 372 is linked to 54 in Bunbury. I also noticed ...

What is happening on channel 56 at the moment? who uses channel 56? (what region) I'm getting a lot of noise over the last 25 min. BTW I was in Eastern suburbs when picking this up. thought I'd check channel 6 and it is there also, so must be freq related. Outer Metro South-Pinjarra region, accordi...

Re: W.A Fire Appliances

Collie have their new Country Pump (CP17 I am told) and learning how to use it this weekend.

Bunbury Career I am told will now not get their new UPH or UPHR (debate has started again on naming) until June or July.

Re: Amatuer Band Antennas - need help choosing

Hey All. Just wondering what people are using for antennas on their Handheld radios? Looking for a replacement antenna for my VX7R.. so many to choose from. I guess the only thing I'm avoiding are telescopic antennas as they are way too easy to break. Prefer a dual-band antenna (2m/70cm). Seems to ...

Re: W.A Fire Appliances

UPH maybe UPHR as in Urban Pump Heavy Rescue?? otherwise I've got no clue. Correct. With work locations I cannot always get online, let alone this forum, so response may take a while at times. The word is (Will be confirmed in due time) that it is abbreviated to UPH rather than UPHR. Like all thing...

Re: W.A Fire Appliances

I notice that TTL3 has been operating out of Perth Station (as Perth TTL) for the last few weeks. Does anyone know where CLP1 (Perth CLP) is? Or what has happened to it? Heard a rumour that it is in workshops - but cannot confirm. Collie is scheduled to get new CP next week. Bunbury careers schedul...

Having had an incident recently where I was trying to get some 20 odd vehicles out of a dangerous situation at a fire that was threatening houses, we had the road blocked and the trapped vehicles had to reverse about 100m to get out of the danger zone. Those waiting further up at the road block wer...

Re: Fixed wing Water Bombers

if i had the money i would buy one of the Oz Jet 737's and convert it to a wather bomber fire fighter, i reckon it would be the best thing for WA Big is not always better. Slow reload times, limited use in urban interface areas (they dont used the fixed wings near built up areas even) etc.. The hel...
