Re: Public Transport Frequencies and Links
Yes, I would be listening to them on the platform and the signal would disappear as soon as I boarded a train.

Re: Public Transport Frequencies and Links
I always had trouble picking up a signal when inside a bus or train. I guess the metal exterior blocked the signal on my Uniden scanner. Transit officer's radios work inside the trains though so perhaps they have more sophisticated equipment.

Re: Panel antennas at train stations
That's what I assumed too as they look like directional antennas, but there's none at the ends of the platforms.

Re: Green CAT service starts June 30th
Excellent, this will take a lot of congestion from the Yellow CAT between Perth station and Harbour Town. It would be nice if it stopped by Princess Margaret Hospital as well though.

I take it as an "idea" not as a promise, but it's a step in the right direction. Explore the possibilities rather than make excuses for not doing anything about it.
The Circle Freeway sounds interesting too.

Re: Public Transport Frequencies and Links
I think it's displaying train arrival times for connecting services, so that if a train is running a minute or two late then the bus driver knows and may wait a while.LighteningCrashes wrote:What do the little signs at the bus stations mean? You know the ones with the led displays with the time and then the +a1 etc?

I wasn't getting anything on these channels either on my stock standard handheld. Ended up getting an adapter and cable to plug it into my TV antenna and now I hear them loud and clear.

Re: Recordings of security channel
Awww reading!?! Yeah ok I'll look into it. In the mean time I will keep the recordings and hopefully we can do something with them. I'm making the assumption that if it's legal for http://www.radioreference.com to rebroadcast via streaming audio then a podcast wouldn't be much different, but best to...

Re: Last Train at 4am
That is an absolutely ridiculous statement. Just because you say so doesn't make it true :) Transport is within your control (Designated driver, taxi, trains). Your statement is further proof that once people decide to go out and drink they wish to wash their hands of responsibility of anything the...

Re: Last Train at 4am
There's certainly a demand for these services and even though I'd very rarely use them I am glad they are available. While you can control your own actions (where you go, how much you drink, how late you stay out etc.) there are many factors beyond your control during a night out and transport is on...
