Need some clarification on use of 000 please! In the UK police, we told people we turned up to jobs at to dial 999 if it was a life or death situation, a crime was being committed then and there or the offender was still on scene in order to facilitate the job being put through quickly and marked as...

I never used my CS in the police and only used the baton a few times, as I'm quite confident in my ability to talk my way out of most confrontational situations. Can't see myself using any of it really. If things get that bad the police should have been called before they got to that level. Will loo...

Can anyone recommend places other than Wellington Army Surplus and the shop just down the road from there for this sort of thing? If I'm going to have to buy handcuffs I'd rather use the Hiatt Spee...

Looked at Transit Guards and it looks ideal, but the recruitment process takes a few weeks, and I was looking for something with a more immediate start. It turns out Secureforce is literally a 3 minute walk down the road from where I am, so will give them a shot and see how it goes - it's not going ...

Just to add a UK perspective: When I was in the police in the UK, we had completed the conversion to digital radio systems. We used the Airwave network, provided by o2, whic ran off the mobile phone network, and thus we were able to take advantage of the extended coverage provided by the network inf...

Security company recommendations?

Hi all, Am new to this forum and have a general interest in scanning, but also have a specific question: I've come over from the UK and am an Australian citizen. Whilst in the UK, I was a police officer for coming up to 3 years. I decided that a career in the police wasn't for me (too much bureaucra...
