Awesome pics
Does anyone know what the little glasshouse underneath in the photo is? I'm assuming the white ball like device is a flir?

Re: W.A Fire Appliances
I find I don't realise just how big the ARFF tenders are until you put them next to another truck. Awesome pic AO

Geelong by default, but only because Sydney didn't make it I reckon the All Blacks are looking pretty good in the RWC too.

Uncomfortable looking art *. Stick it in a gallery somewhere and everyone will be happy.

Re: FESA Pump Servicing
Is it the truck or the pump/fire fittings that needs servicing? I'm by no means an expert but if I was stuck I'd do a ring around of the firebody builders if it was the pump, while the truck should be able to be serviced by any truck mechanic. We used to take all our (ex DEC) trucks up to a firebody...

Re: General fire discussions
I actually saw a DEC HD and LT over at Lysterfield NP (in Melbourne) last week. Travelling in convoy with a CFA staff car, CFS 3.4R, DSE LT and 3.4R, a Tasmanian Fire Service Prototype 1.4 and a bunch of support and transport units. (I'm guessing on the types here and no pics. Was on my bike.) I fi...

Re: News: WA fire boxx Jo Harrison-Ward sacked
I've scanned the first chapter of the report and the recommendations seem to reflect some of the findings of previous inquiries in other states. Having trouble wording this but I'm hoping that the energy and willpower to make things better on behalf of the government and its agencies doesn't stop at...

Local govt relations? Does anyone know what this function is? Interesting unit. Yamba welding on the NSW north coast did something similar half a dozen years ago but I don't think they ever made it into widespread service.

Re: [WF] End of the Road for DEC Gang Truck from Swan Coasta
I'm hoping that the fact nobody has heard anything means it was injury free and those involved are only walking away with pictures and stories.
Repair wise I think its more likely they'll lift the firebody and drop it on a new truck.
