Re: Filming/Photographing Transperth services
There is no legislation that stops people from filming on PTA property. It is only an internal policy. You may be requested to cease if you are seen to be filming or taking photos, but legally there is nothing legally that any employee of the PTA can do to stop you. Unless a member of public makes a...

...but he was booking "jaywalkers" before the Pageant started... Good to see them catching the "real" crooks! Just to add fuel to the fire (not with an intention of malice), but as far as I'm concerned a person who breaks any law, is a "real" crook. No exceptions. -htfuc

Re: shift comander and vki
From my perspective I agree...but it's the PTA and they believe they are holier than thou and can do whatever they want. If they realised just what a goldmine their Transit Officer unit was in terms of how good it can be, as opposed to stifling it with against written law policies, I could guarantee...

Re: shift comander and vki
Ok...well we shall put this to bed then..... As I am an employee of the PTA, I can tell you for a fact..... CHUBB Revenue, Passenger Ticketing Assistants, Customer Service Assistants and Transit Officers all have the legal authority to ask you for details but only Transit Officers can detain you.......

Re: shift comander and vki
Thats simply not true Written Fiction......You need to thoroughly read what I am saying.....Although what I am saying only applies to the Public Transport system , I would be hard pressed to beleive that the Public Transport Authority Act is the only act that bestows any legal authority for "Au...

Re: shift comander and vki
Perhaps I'm not making it clear enough. Any person, who is appointed by the CEO of the Public Transport Authority, as an Authorised Officer, or Security Guard, Under Sect 56 of the Public Transport Authority Act 2003, has the legislative authority to ask you for your Name, Address and Date of Birth,...

For your info 57. I too am concerned with transit guards in cages.. free the transit guards :D at least let them out for exercise! They are a cross between customer service and security that's true but sometimes their customer service skills can leave a little bit to be desired. A lot of them don't think they should...

Re: shift comander and vki
Not a problem. The easiest way to indentify who is requesting your details is to look at the badge on their shirt. If you see anything other than Transit Officer, once you have supplied details you are free to leave.

Re: can you be fined for swearing on rail prop? overheard this
At the end of the day, any behaviour that is not "Orderly" is "Disorderly" and falls under the Criminal Code for Disorderly Behaviour. Time, Place and Circumstance come into play when deciding if a person should be dealt with by way of a fine, summons, or arrest. Transit Officers...

Re: shift comander and vki
Thats correct. Shift Commander as well as some supervisors on the rail network have access to IMS, or Incident Management System, which in the past was referred to as, N.I.S or Name Inquiry System. All staff, not including Wilsons Bus Security, but including CHUBB Revenue Staff are able to request a...
