VK6RNR Signage at BINNU, W.A.
Interesting to note that VK6RNR has an "advertising sign" advertising it's callsign and operating frequency at the BP Roadhouse BINNU - 37kms north of Northampton...
Good idea!

Re: Amateur information beacon VK6RIB
Beacon is becoming very boring now... Novelty appears to be wearing off with some VK6'ers....
When's it going to have something more vibrant on it rather than the same old News stuff?

Re: New Beacon?
So when is the Beacon likely to go back on-air? It started with a big "fanfare" announcement just before Christmas and was off-air a week later??
Maybe it should have gone to Walliston after all - might be still on-air if it had....

Re: New Beacon?
Seems to be working quite well. The audio broadcast keeps changing every now and then - varies from a recorded message to news of the world?
Gets some AC hum every now and then though?

Information Beacon
Has anyone heard this new beacon that is currently under test? It's on 145.575Mhz but only seems to be putting out a Carrier Wave and a Morse ID at present??
Appears it originates from the Ham College HQ in Lynwood, WA.... See: http://hamcollege.com.au/wordpress/?page_id=33
Doug, any info?
