Re: Programming UHF CB 80 Channels

you can program them to narrow and it will work but it will just sound compressed and crappy. i would set 1-40 for wideband and 41-80 narrowband

The question wasnt directed at you, it was a general question. And i would have thought Uhf or vhf high would work better through buildings.

Hakea prison fire.

I saw the below post in the major structure fire thread. It says they were using CH 96 for control. Why would they have not used FRS2 considering they are working in a concrete structure and they should all have access to UHF ? kyeboi Post subject: Re: Major structure fires (3rd alarm+) 2012/13 Unre...

Re: WANTED: Handheld CB radio AT LEAST 10KM RANGE

You wont get a hand held (regardless of your budget) that will do 10km without thousands of dollars worth of infrastructure in the form of a repeater.

Not possible, youd be far better off buying a new radio then trying to modify those ones anyway.

Re: News: Firefighting equipment lacking: Report

The first article is flawed to the max. And wouldnt an actual UHF radio do worse in smoke due to higher freq? The main problems iv experienced with waern are the 6ar/6ip network and the vertex portables.
