Re: Using Baofeng here in WA

I'm confident you would have absolutely nothing to worry about in possessing this radio unless you start transmitting on it.

Can anyone tell me why?

Re: New rules on 3rd alarm fires

It seems they have already given up on the "rule" anyway.

Have heard several ICV's stood down by the station officer since then.

New rules on 3rd alarm fires

Heard on the scanner last night that due to a new rule being implemented, only a D.O. can stand down an ICV in a fire classified as a 3rd Alarm (and above I assume) As many of you know, you will often here a fire classified as a 3rd alarm but ICV not required. Re: Waccom UV5r opinions?

Those Baofeng radios seem to be very popular.

I know quite a few volunteer fire-fighters that own one and they were actually supplied by someone at their fire station, pre programmed.

Seems there are many volleys breaking the law.

I find that hard to believe but hey, you have obviously had a bad experience.

Re: DFES digital

Why is it bad for a cameraman to get a shot of volunteers searching?

New police bikes

3 police officers just went past me on the freeway wearing bright orange vests.

They looked like they were trialling a new style of motorbike

Didn't get a good look at the model of bike but channel 7 was driving alongside them so I'm guessing we will find out soon.
