Hello all Just letting those who would be interested know that there will be a second Trainee Paramedic intake this year in the Northern Territory. It'll be a June 2010 start and rumours are that this will be a huge intake e.g. 15+ people. We just had about 17 people including a few volunteers just ...

Re: Ambulance services other than St John
Maybe it was just one person in a response car and they were waiting for backup to transport??? From what you say i'm guessing royal life were providing first aid and then they called this lot to transport. I wouldn't think even a private service would provide just one person to cover a music festival

Should you get a parking fine if your vehicle is too big to fit into parking spaces?

Re: Darwin Airport Airmed, AMSA and Customs
NT Aeromedical Service is currently run by Pearl Aviation but the contract went out to tender a couple of weeks ago (just before or after Christmas if I remember right). Air med only do the northern half of the territory. RFDS have the southern half.

Wow looks really impressive. I know career police/fire/ambulance service stations that aren't that good. Very lucky.

I used to live right opposite there on Dreyer Way many years ago. It went up probably about 15-20 years ago aswell. Nice to see they haven't developed it and just turned it into a big block of housing.
Re: AFP

Re: airport tender
I believe from when we did some training out with Aviation Fire Fighting and Rescue that they are able to respond to incidents within a 1km radius of the airport but depending on the type and size of aircraft that are moving about the airport they have to have a certain level of coverage. So if they...

Re: St John Ambulance
Over here it's quite usual to have a back up crew go on a priority 1 to a resus. Gets more hands there quickly to carry equipment, help with patient extrication etc. G i think you might find that resus was Nov 2007 unless you've had another one since I've been gone. (PS to anyone who will say how wi...

Re: Leaving the Scene of Accident
There was an interesting case here in the NT where a person drove off after an accident due to violence from bystanders and great personal threat to life from them. Believe it was a car vs pedestrian and there quite a few angry relatives. The courts accepted this was an appropriate thing to do due t...
