Re: RESCUE 65 Observations

The helicopter you are referring to is owned by CHC, just like R65.
The one contracted to RAAF is old S76. The one for RAC/rescue is old bell 214.
Rotary aircraft require more servicing than fixed wing with more moving parts and more to maintain. :)

Thanks, thought you would have already known. Noticed how it was affilliated through another organisation. I met the Careflight manager some months ago and commented there was also a base in Queensland too. Though can't see that on the web page..

What about the limited training for FRS BFS firefighters in the area. Thie outs their lives more at risk as the union and FESA do not provide comprehensive training to the vols. So bugger the union and their political motivation.
Paid vols good option.. Properly train vols will save lives..

Hi gkoutlis, this is true and thanks for your feedback.. It's normally handled through ASA or who-ever the plight plan stuff set faxed to and then radio on through the control tower (if there is one at a particular airport). Though I'm not sure what happens in uncontrolled/unmonitored airspace no co...

Nothing compares to the F250 Turbo Diesel, with double overhead foxtails, stereo, heated seats and that nice...... You hear it? Sound of the diesel motor.... With a 'Wheeled Coach' modular body on the back..

G'day WPXZBP,
I know Pinjarra have a new HSR, Harvey have an FRS brigade and not sure if Harvey have cutter and spreaders. SES in Harvey years ago did the road rescue and unsure if it still happens.. It would make sense for Waroona to have cutters and spreaders though.
Still thanks for the feedback.

Hi SJNT, thanks for the info on that.. Sounds bit like SA Ambo Service at the central station in Adelaide back in 1998. Firefighters were complaining of being woken up in the night and Ambos not pitching in with station cleaning duties, although they were out on jobs.. (poor firies getting paid to s...

G'day WPXZBP,
do you know if Waroona FSB have road rescue capability? I'm sure they would have the SCBA and structure fire kit.. Good to see rural brigades finally issued with decent appliances. Shame DMs also have shiny cars..

Thanks

Hi 4353 :D yes miss the old school Serpy station, those were the days when you had to hang on tight with 'Ednas School of Ambulance Driving', and had to be back by 5 to milk the cows. It was also haing to be very self sufficient, backup ambulances were rare. Yet it had a rural feel and a sense of be...

Hi 4353, I'd be careful on how you say things there. Not sure if the number resembles your service number there too... ALAS original owner did raise the bar on several items e.g. SPO2, Biphasic monitors. Sometimes people may not get the same oppertunities as others. Does that mean they are monkeys o...
