There will always be a role for BFS or VFRS brigades with BA, on many occasions West Swan have been the only BA appliance capable of accessing a house or structure that could need defending, Pumps can be very un-useful at times. DEC may have their own fire service, but unlike BFB's and FRS they are not classed as an emergency service and therefoe do not have Blue/red lights and a siren. The service they provide does not include "emergency response" as such, but simply put they provide a deployable resource to mana...

yeh i agree with that, and it certainly works, but u cant tell me it doesnt get frustrating for many volunteers. it has been proven to work this year just by the major decrease in major incidents within our op area.

oh and FMO's are similiar to CFM's but have a different style agreement between Shire and FESA. They Basically do the same job, and FMO's are more often found in inner country areas, eg northam and toodyay.

ZONE 2 works well but up here its becoming a pain in the arse, we can turnout up to three times a night 4 times a week and get stood down the majority of those times or get downgraded to normal road conditions for mopup as FRS gets there faster but runs out of water. also with an increase in callout...
