Re: General fire discussions
W F posted at 2.50pm on significant bushfires that Claremont, Perth 2nd, Success & Rocko called in to Banjup fire. Why wouldn't 6AR have called in Success first? - they are actually the closest CFRS station. I was listening briefly and i realise that Claremont was covering Canning vale FS and P...

Re: Streaming FESA scanner audio
I it just me or is there an increase in People talking over the top of each other at the moment. I have noticed it for a while now. I can't understand how this can occur. If someone is talking you wait. Your msg will not push the other one out the way. People either need more training or more radio ...

Yes Hope Valley has a 2.4 as does Ellenbrook and Maddington for the summer bushfire season and Midland, Rockingham and Duncraig have a second LT for the summer

Re: ABC news: FESA going to digital radio in the metro area
I do believe and have been told that digital is already in the pipe line aunty eyes. but knowing FESA will probably take an eternity to roll outit out. Give it 3 years and maybe there will be digital

Re: DBA's and FESA ComCen
Yes you can ring the com centre and tell them that it is a false alarm. Most times the number is near the FIP. The appliance dispatched to the incident will now come normal rd conditions (no lights and sirens) and if there is back up then they will be stood down. Every DBA must be attended by a crew...

Re: General fire discussions
The 2.4 crew are not sent to any incident unless, there are exceptional, where there is no SO present. At all incidents that they attend there is a pump crew attached which has an SO which means that they come under their control. At no stage are they left on the fire ground with out an FRS SO

Re: General fire discussions
Ace, only metro VFRS stations are listed on the BAT board in Comcen, unfortunatley no BFB/VFS/BFS are listed on it as there is too many units which will probably require a extra 2-3 screens per operator to list them all. But it is up to the operator to change the status of that VFRS brigade as the ...

Re: General fire discussions
I am guessing that they are trying to stop a lot of traffic on the radio system especially when times are busy. In the Comcen they have no way to record when a volunteer station is on or off station when they are not at an incident as they are not inbuilt to the system and it would be pretty hard fo...
