They dont call 000 tyranus, they have a special number. They do have a system in place via the DM who will notify the building that there is a problem, however the fire brigade sorry sorry FESA can not fine them for alarms going off only notify them in writing to get the problem fixed. I agree with you jasonjag that it is a waste of resources to go to DBA where it is just toast, steam, workmen. Though you have to understand that you never know what the alarm is when you turn out to it. There have been occasions where DBA's have gone off and thay actually turn out to be fires. As y...

From what I have heard the pumps (trucks) will not start with them in. Unlike the lts they dont have kill switchs that you must turn on but as I said they will not start with the lead still in.

Then your registered like Parkeville and MT Helena, BFS with the capabilities to do structural if required- not FRS. Then you should have a 2.4 with that capability. it would alway be handy in that neck of the woods.

How can you be dual registered if you dont have the gear- BA, Recsue tools, an actual atructural unit?

Seems bizzare to me that your dual registered with 2 lts and you dont do what the FRS does. Is there plans for the future and with that, the career guys aren't that far away.

haven't heard many good things about the 1.4 they want to trial when I was speaking to the perm boys from midland as they reckon they are getting one. They reckon it wont keep up with the pump on long runs and it wont get into places for initial response that a Lt would. Also the hills maybe a facto...

Think your nit picking at the windows comment and I think the BFB needs to get its house in order before making comment on any FRS personel - VOL or perm about what they are and aren't doing. Seems to be a raging inferno when the pic was taken of the perm boys having a chat :?

The leading firefighter rank that was eluded to earlier is still a rank within the FRS career ranking structure. It has though due to natural attrition become almost non exsitent. It was a rank in the country stations before stations officers were introduced. he was the senior man and took on that r...
