Re: Assults on Firemen
Thats right. But in saying that tha ambos are covered and they are no different to firies. For example An ambo might attend an assult victim after a domestic disturbance and be threatened by the person responsible but a firie might attend a house fire after a domestic disturbance and be threatened b...

Re: Assults on Firemen
Whilst it is correct that Firefighters don't deal with violence etc as part of their duties, You either are not a firie or just lucky. Ive been involved or heard of many incidents were violence or agro behaviour has been directed at firies, including a couple were items such as bats and knives have...

Re: Ambulance services other than St John
Neither of those vehicles mentioned above belong to AMS or Hostile1. If this is the case in which i say it is, considering the owner of this vehicle ( 89 lexen) is employed by AMS, i would of thought the company would take action due to the fact he is driving a non approved (illegal) emergancy vehi...

Re: General fire discussions
A couple of weeks ago i watched 3 12yr olds light a fire just up from my house i chased the {ADMIN EDIT: Keep the language civil thanks!} down and held them until the police arrived. The fire was only bout 300m2 but caused about $1000 damage to a neighbouring house (fences). The police then informed...

Re: Ambulance services other than St John
Is it a AMS vehicle or is it a private vehicle thats been done up for some reason, cause i thought it was a bit strange for a company to be using such an old vehicle. But smithy from what you have just said if it is the person i am thinking of he may be a member of BFS down your way. If this is the ...

Re: Ambulance services other than St John
Was racing at the motorplex on the weekend and noticed in the officials carpark a 1989 toyota lexen with rather large sports body kit, it had red and white stripping and the word MEDIC down both sides with what (from a distance) looked like the AMS logo on the doors it also had several aerials hangi...

Re: General fire discussions
I think we all know there would be a big difference between what is the real truth and what the head pen pusher from each department reports as the truth. The only thing they will be doing is trying to cover there arses. Plus i think there union would have better things to do than go into fight for ...

Re: General fire discussions
why bring this up if you dont want to start an argument? hey it is not as though i wrote it. I thought it was a good read as it highlights major issues that appear to be not only confined to one state but to fire services all over australia. And i would also suggest thier union would not be fightin...
