Thanks for the replies - of course now I see on the PDF (supplied from sticky) the clear 'S' for Southside... Next on my list is to find a scanner place so that I can acquire a decent discone antenna - a ScanKing Royal Discone one would be the one of choice but they only seem to be found in the UK. ...

Police frequency(ies) South Perth/Como area

Hi - I've just moved immediately South of the River and I've finally unpacked my scanner from the container (Interstate move from Melbourne). I've looked through PDFs of frequencies and plugged most into the scanner but I wonder if anyone here can give me the frequency/channel numbers used in the So...

I have to say that even 3 is 2 more than I expected! Good to know I'm not alone. Any of the women into aircraft too? Or is that where I start to really drift from the 'norm'?!

Thanks - I'm running a poll in the general forum (as I see you've picked up on) just out of pure curiosity.

Men vs Women scanner users

Just curious to know how many people here who use scanners are women. I'm guessing not very many but I figure there must be at least a handful.

Thanks for that. Yeah as soon as I posted, I had another more throrough scout over older threads and threw up one thread on digital in WA. Sod's law. Primary interest is aircraft - no idea whether I'll be able to pick up Tower from Como but at the risk of going off topic, I'll wait for replies from ...

Moving to Perth

Hi all, I'm moving from Melbourne over to Perth in early December of this year and bringing along my trusty scanner (Fairmate 2000 aka AOR 1000 I believe). Anyway, I'm most likely going to be in Como and I'm curious as to know whether that's close enough to Perth's airport to be able to pick up the ...

Moving over to digital in WA?

Hi, I'm currently in Melbourne but moving across to Perth early December. Over here as of a few days ago the entire VICPOL switched to digital as well as the Firies - Ambos to follow shortly. Before I dispose of the scanner (although I'm into aviation so perhaps all is not totally lost yet), does an...
