Academy Open Day 2011
Came across this on the WAPOL website - Didn't see it mentioned elsewhere.. "A recruit open day and free family concert will be held at the WA Police Academy in Joondalup on Saturday 2 April." Link here: http://www.police.wa.gov.au/Aboutus/News/PoliceAcademyOpenDayFreeFamilyConcert/tabid/1...

Re: Soo sent off my ap
Just FYI - There was an internal WAPOL broadcast sent out today, encouraging staff to spread the word about the mass recruit influx next year (first half of). It said that now is the best time to apply and that pool waiting times are likely to be very short. ..So pretty much what we have been saying...

Re: Codes
Likely a warrant arrest, PTD (Police Transport Division) will meet the Delta vehicle at the lockup and take over the arrest from there.
The PTA and WAPOL have an agreement that TO's will arrest and transport warrant arrests to the lockup, but WAPOL will take over from that point.

Re: Soo sent off my ap
Congrats kilmo! There's been a little rumor among the ranks that the academy is looking at pushing a large number of recruits through early next year. So much so that they are considering running afternoon/night classes to accommodate. Seems like the best time to be in the pool is right now, so good...

Re: Codes
Does any one know what a Code 9 is ? A code 7 is a request for all available units to make their way to a location.. usually a messy sudden death. A code 9 is a request for non-urgent backup.. A code 10 is a URGENT request for backup, usually used when having the tar kicked out of you. Those are th...

Re: Auxillary Police THREAD
Kind of silly, really. The required beep test level is not really matched to the job duties..written_ficton wrote:So has anyone applied? looking at the fitness etc, its only a minimal step down from a police officer requirements!
Good luck to anyone that does apply though

Re: WAPOL MIGs axed
A sad day indeed.
Seems to be a popular theme in aussie police departments - Axing units only to reform them later when they finally realize that they were needed.
RIP MIG.

Re: Combined Speed and Red Light Cameras?
Geez, Good to know.
I'll have to watch my speed when going past there... Although the only time I go past there is on an escort.. Probably should be extra careful in a work vehicle

Re: Transperth Security and Transit Officers
Firstly, they may not be Transit Officers. Take a close look at the shoulder patches on their shirts (and on their caps). The PTA Transit Officers, which are the equivalent of the Police on railway property, have Transit Officer on their patches. They will usually also have a 'regimental number' wi...
