Is WAPOL encrypted statewide?
Just curious if Police across WA statewide are encrpyed, or are there some areas/channels that are still analogue or digital clear and if so, what areas are still able to be scanned?
Thanks for your replies.

Re: New Markings and Lightbars!
Just curious regarding the new markings. Are they a concept or trial marking or are they now going to be the norm in WA??? Will they be on all vehicle types including caged vehicles like the Colorado and Divvy Vans or while they just feature on sedans?? And if they are just going to be on sedans, wi...

Re: Calling "URGENT"
I am a NSW Copper and we use the suffix 'URGENT' here also, so hopefully I can give you an insiders perspective re: calling urgent. Urgent does not technically mean urgent or emergency situation. Urgent is actually short for urgent message. It means that the car calling has a message and is requesti...

Re: Callsign for DO and Supervisors
Here in NSW each Command each shift has a Duty Officer, Station Supervisor and Mobile Supervisor rostered on. They have there own vehicle and callsign and are typically heard on air attending jobs, mainly major incidents or when requested by a car crew for advice. I was just curious where the superv...

Tasers
Does anyone know if the Tasers on issue to WAPOL are personal issue ie: one taser stays with one officer for their use only. Here in NSW we have just been granted funding and a statewide rollout of tasers commences next month, but I am told that while each officer will have one each shift, the taser...

Re: P Plater Copper
Very funny Yorky!! Now that I read that back they both do contradict each other. I suppose you feel better putting them on knowing that your being deceptive rather than having to display them because ur a young driver lol. Actually NSW and WA road laws are now identical as is every other state/terri...

Re: P Plater Copper
Sometimes here we will deliberately put P plates on unmarked vehicles to catch speeders/traffic offenders. Generally unmarked highway will do this as there cars are not so easily picked. Sometime people using detectives cars or other unmarked units for pro active work will also use P plates to catch...

Re: Vehicle Markings
Thanks for the replies guys? I like the markings actually, very refreshing a different. They should just have the entire fleet go over to the markings but then cost i guess. We used to have different markings here in nsw, then the fleet went to chequerband, I dunno why because it cost *#@!loads and ...
