Re: WAERN use
One of the problems with WAERN that I've noticed, isn't actually a WAERN problem, it’s the operators. What I've noticed is that because people are so set into their old habits. "in this situation we use channel XX, and then we use channels X Y Z" etc like they have been doing for the last ...

Re: Train Lines - Disruptions - 2011
This is interesting... They are going to have clarkson trains operating from the above-ground station (Departing platform 7, arriving platform 9) and mandurah trains terminating at the esplanade from Boxing day to new year's eve. Why would they want to close perth underground at such a busy time of...

Re: Transit Officers Equipment
Yeah the Wilson guys carry the same equipment except their batons are only 21" - restricted by Security and Related Activities (Control) Act 1996, and their sprays are a different brand - SABRE instead of First Defense. I know because I used to be one of them... eeeek, wont do that again! :S H...

Re: So how do they know?
I had imagined that the cameras would broadcast all the time..but you raise a good point, they may only be triggered as required. I'll keep that in mind. If they were on all the time, how would they pick up the camera's??? It's not like they have cameras all along the track... or do they? The DAV c...

Re: Transit Officers Shift Patterns
The shift rotation is not quite as simple as 9on then 5 off etc You can be rostered for 8 shifts in a fortnight and then depending on special events etc there is previsions in the EBA for 1 forced overtime shift... The 8 shifts may not be concurrent Ie. not all done in a row with a 5 day break at th...

Re: Ticket Checking devices
Hi all, After riding the train to Mandurah today the transit security guards used some green gizmo to check our smartriders. Any idea how they work? Is the tag on status stored on the card, or does the card reader connect to the network to check if the card has tagged on? Cheers, Numloxx The status...
