They do not require CTCSS to access

Does anybody know what the new police radios are going to be. They have already starting to use some in parallel with the old system. Listening on Ch16 Rockingham police are loud and clear but VKI has a lot of hash on the signal and is at times almost unreadable.

These channels can be used by the FRS and SES. They are simplex channels.

No. Ch12 is weak and scratchy. Only using rubber ducky antenna.

Thanks Dazla. I only monitor Ch16 and that has apparently crashed and is still off air.

VKI and all Police activity disappeared off air yesterday 26/04/05.
Anyone know where they have gone?
