**edit: During a five hour drive today, at one point I found myself almost 40 kph over the posted limit in order to overtake a road train in a safe and reasonable fashion. If it was a safe and reasonable fashion why did you need to do 40 kph over the limit...? Surely a decent stretch of highway you...

No doubt, but then seize the cars for 28 days.

Will the higher penalties / longer seizure periods, mean more people will run from Police? Iv seen people get done for 180/80 zone, 100 kph over the limit and they get a $600 fine and 6 months suspension. WEAK. Beefing up the fines is good, but the suspension periods need to be doubled. Also driving...

Police bikes are Honda's St1100P or St1300P. The P stands for Police pack, the bikes get a calibrated speedo, bigger battery etc etc.

The speedo has increments every 2 kilometers, instead of the 5 km increment on normal bikes.

Yeah normal Police Bikes still have call signs, just that the call signs are not visable on the bikes

With the VT Gen III with 15 inch steelies you knew it was coming so you dealt with it. Normally dealt with it with a great big smile on ya dial :) As readers would know a WRX has already been involed in a number of pursuits the last couple of months. That WRX has claimed some good scalps already 8)
