You also have radar and other high-energy RF sources in the vicinity of airports. Scanners have zero front-end filtering on their receivers (being so wideband) so they're going to get swamped pretty easily.

It appears on all ADS-B servers that don't censor their data. I use ADSB Exchange for an unfiltered feed.

Hi Gavin, I'm hearing a lot of static on your "Perth Fire and Rescue Service - Command" Broadcastify feed this morning. Voice comms are clear above it, so perhaps squelch? Not that I want to tell you about scanners or radios .... Just had a listen - sounds OK. if the sound is a light crackling soun...
