I am located in the Mandurah region.
Have a UBC248clt using a mobile 1 vertical antenna mouted 15 metres
and a mobile scanner BC246T which runs a Discone antenna which is also mounted on an approx 15metre mast.

I bought a Uniden ubc248clt dekstop scanner as my first unit about 3 or 4 years ago now. It's a fairly basic scanner, think it goes from about 66mhz band up through to 512mhz. Is a great little desktop unit, just the frequency range is pritty small, however it does have AM and FM radio and an alarm ...

Not sure where you'd get one of those mate.. Try giving prestige a call and they may be able to get something, otherwise may be able to point you in the right direction..
Otherwise I'd be trying ebay.

Some around the mandurah area use 70mhz - 80mhz band and also some use frequencies in around the 413mhz band. Not sure what they use in bunbury but I'd imagine it would be similar. Just do a search around those frequencies I rekon, should come up with some activity... be warned it's not the most exc...
