Re: Documentary: "Motorway Group 1979 Traffic Policing"

That is one bleak stretch of motorway. Been up and down it many times. Interesting video....thanks for posting Gavin.

Re: UHF CB and or Zello - Trying to generate some activity

I tried to hit it from Freo but had no joy.

I’d be interested to know how you go on your travels.

Thanks 👍

Re: UHF CB and or Zello - Trying to generate some activity

Only problem is the PMR446 nets are usually within smaller towns, but here in WA, it's vaaaaaaaast lands. It'd still be neat to try something like that though. Hi JhG123! The nets do occur in the smaller towns but also do well over wider areas too. Particularly of course given the easier access to ...

Re: UHF CB and or Zello - Trying to generate some activity

Hi Yorky!

Thanks for your input.......all true and valid points.

I just think its a shame when you can see how well PMR446 is used in other countries.

I do like Zello for the reasons you state and there are some decent channels available on there.

Cheers.

UHF CB and or Zello - Trying to generate some activity

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmEMGh4RZ1U&ab_channel=RingwayManchester This is an interesting example of what can be achieved with a few like minds and a bit of advertising on social media etc. A great PMR446 net in the UK that is held every Sunday at 8pm in the Manchester/North West area. Oth...

Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements

A RAAF Herc is back in town. Doing the usual big loops down into Cockburn Sound then back up to Quinns Rocks and repeat. No doubt doing training runs for parachute drops over the next couple of days. Only saw it visually, didn’t have a radio with me but Flight Aware shows it with callsign TROJ07. Co...

Re: Anyone want to go Radiosonde hunting?

Thanks for posting this info. It wasn't something I was aware of and its very interesting. The tracker site is very good and I'm tracking one as I type that will be landing sometime soon somewhere east of Beverley. It looks as if the balloons are launched at approx 0715hrs/1915hrs.........is that ab...

Re: BOM Radiosonde

Interesting stuff!

So when hunting for it were you using 70cm FM? I thought I'd read that you need a SSB receiver and that FM wouldn't work....hope that's incorrect.

Great job on the find!!

Re: PER01 regular nets or call in??

There is obviously a huge amount of time, effort and cost put into the licencing, installation, and upkeep etc of the repeaters......you only need to look at the NRA website or FB page to see that.

Seems odd if there is no usage.....so there must be something going on at some time or other.

PER01 regular nets or call in??

Hi all

Is there a regular net or call in etc on PER01?

I am in the northern suburbs and can reach the repeater so it would be great to know if there is any regular activity.

I have put calls out a number of times but never had any reply.

Cheers

Re: Channel 18 UHF CB

Raising an old and clearly sensitive one here.....with no desire to stoke any fire or arguments as it seems this topic has caused over the years. This system/gateway was my first experience of using uhf cb. I stumbled upon it quite by chance when playing around with a new handset and heard an Americ...
