Re: DFES digital

What would be the benefit of DFES going digital? Is it purely to stop people from listening in? WAPOL and SJA gave out personal information that was of privacy concern, but what sensitive information do DFES actually broadcast? Names, Addresses of incidents, locations of trapped people. That's just...

It's so sad that the ABC are getting cut like this.

The ABC is the media source I practically grew up on!

Re: What antenna connection standard is this?

Are there any compatible 470 MHz antennas that are on Ebay that you know of?

The little antenna it comes with is pathetic.

Thanks for your time and patience!

Re: Antenna help needed

Awesome! So that means I can grab a male SMA terminator, some good co-axial cable and connect it to a real antenna?

I don't have a car, but having a collapsible high gain directional antenna for bushwalking in the middle of nowhere would be a godsend.

Re: Channel 1 and 8 repeaters?

I heard it on Tuesday night, it was faint, but audible on PER08

I was out on my handheld, so I had no recording gear of it.

Want me to record PER08 and see if I can catch it?

I think I heard you yesterday kicking knobheads off 35 & 38.

Thanks for putting up PER 05. People will be needing that up if a major incident occurs in the city or surrounds.

Hmm. My place of work has 3 sets of thick internal walls. My handheld scanner can't listen through them.

That web stream is the best.
