Once you have the frequencies you want, it works great. So Yes. I do recommend for use in your car.

I actually just purchased that scanner. It's a good unit. But beware of the following: You cannot just dial in a frequency and save it to the memory! You have to press the Band key, enter the band the frequency that you want is in, (example 400Mhz to 512Mhz) and then hold the up or down key or press...

Try 148.6000. scan up and down to get the data you want. Be responsible and never disclose any data you recieve.

I was there. Vulcan crew had their own vehicles. I didn't get to peek at the radios. Will see if I can have a chat with some of them and take a look at the radios.
