Re: Waccom UV5r opinions?
Listen mate, I have never said and never would break federal law, why in the world would I do that? From the responses you were making, asking "well who's going to catch me then" and stuff like that, it seemed pretty clear to me that you were intending on ignoring the advice you were bein...

Re: Waccom UV5r opinions?
Well say if i program it to australian regulations, lock it to 80 channels, and use it only on those 80 channels, what's wrong with it? As robbage says: This radio is not authorised as a CB in Australia. No amount of programming or wand-waving will change that. The fact that the radio is is capable...

This radio is not authorised as a CB in Australia. No amount of programming or wand-waving will change that. I also disagree with the first line of your first post. Well tell me this, who will charge me of using a CB radio on the right channels and frequency, only having the option to change freque...

Re: Waccom UV5r opinions?
Hey, I have found this pretty decent radio (at least I think it is), and I just wanted some good thoughts. The product is programmable, with all accessories, like battery charger, earpiece etc. I just don't know what the range is? It's 5W and the frequency is 400-520MHz which I know is Aus allowed,...

Re: How to programme a CB radio's frequency
No. That radio is fixed to the 22 channels that they use in the USA. They can't be reprogrammed to work on the Australian CB channel allocation (besides, there's 80 CB channels here, not 22). But is it possible to programme it to fit Australia's frequency, but stop at channel 22, still linking to t...

Re: WANT TO BUY A CB RADIO
Well i just want to talk to randoms, truckies, people with CB radios in their house, just casual use. So basically the frequency must be nothing but 476-477Mhz? and 5W, Yep, that's right. Five watts is the maximum permissible output power for a UHF CB radio. And it must comply with the frequency re...

Re: New CB- Radio(er), need some advice
OK so guys, i contacted the transmission or whatever agency, it IS illegal to use in australia, but not illegal to import into australia, so i have now found a pretty good deal, but it is UHF 400-480mhz, would that be both legal and operate-able in Perth WA?
