Re: Social media and emergencies
Provided you have data coverage, social media (particularly twitter) is a great way of getting a mass message out. The main drawback is probably that only a certain age demographic is using it. The delay until an official message gets out is often quite long, I think it would be great if the officia...

I'm pretty sure they can also attend structure fires under emergency conditions. We had one slot in behind us once on the way to a house fire and he had his red beacons going.

From the 3rd pic it appears the bus has a safe driving ad? Gotta love the irony if that's the case

Re: BFB/VFRS fitness test
For VFRS there's only a form at the application stage in which medical conditions need to be listed. Other than that there are no fitness tests, either initial or ongoing, save for the fact that prior to being operational you have to do demonstrate certain competencies such as rolling/laying out hos...

Re: New VHF channels
Hi folks. First post...
It appears WAERN Channel 141 (Canning Mills - 164.0000) has gone silent. Not surprising, as I haven't seen it on any of the metro comms plans. WAERN Channel 371 is the current 6AR channel for that area and can be accessed on 163.6750Mhz.
Cheers
