The Firearms Act applies to firearms and may have your answers there if you have a look through the State Law Publisher's website.

To the best of my memory without any research, if it has no ability to fire then simple possession is not illegal. Again, intent can and does make a difference.

I think you'll find it's a public thread, more than your thread, regardless of who had the first post.

Who determines what's a good answer? There's no-one screening posts to discriminate what gets posted or not. Don't you want people to reply to your inane post? You can decide what you take away ...

TADIS is fucntional when the vehicle isn't moving, when you're one-up. I don't know about all of them, but I know atleast the one TK vehicle using TADIS.

I just editted my post to say that the Schedules, from memory, are in the Weapons Regulations, not the act. Although the act has the offences listed.

Have a look in the Weapons Act and refer to the Schedules under the Weapons Regulations.

Depends on the item, can depend on the intent for use of the item.

'Concealment' doesn't have anything to do with anything. Possessing and carrying [two different things, legally] is what you have to worry ...

Only thing I'm unsure of is if cars can view closed jobs or type in a job number to view it. Either way I don't believe cars can dispatch themselves as yet.

Closed jobs/job numbers = yes.
Dispatch themselves = no.

Yeah but don't you guys have a stack of b-s Westpac rescue choppers or something?

I always seem to see on TV the poor bastards who get taken out by a rip in the water and a chopper comes to their rescue.

That is completely unheard of over here. There is an RAC chopper but from the amount of ...

Its not very encouraging when the people conducting the interviews don't know how the physc test works.

It's not very encouraging that somebody applying for a position would assume their interviewer is stupid based on words said. People say things all the time, and some of the time say them for ...

Thank you kindly for your informative replies, guys.

Your suggestions to not use them are needless - I was/am looking for the information out of curiosity, not to purchase some of them for use. I'm not in the business where I can afford to be done for flouting the law, if you know what I mean. But ...

Perhaps answering my own question here, but looking at the frequency that GMRS runs on [462.550 through 462.750 from wikipedia] and then looking at Uniden's online frequency search tool which is at http://www.uniden.com.au/v3/search_page.htm for WA, it appears that there are some clashes with the ...

Please be in mind that I only understand the basics of radio communications. I'm fielding this question on behalf of my curious old man.

Right-o. If I were to purchase a US GMRS handheld pair of two-ways [which go for $70 and claim to reach 45km line of sight] for use in Australia, apart from ...

Stay at PAC while you can still get away with doing stuff all.

The whole mob at PAC should be sworn. In a perfect world with plentiful sworn.

Well, that goes without saying. But it's no different to any other penalty. Atleast for the most part they're consistent. Consistently and ridiculously lenient.

But that's a whole other argument.

Polair hate it, sometimes they can't see anything but [insert colour] when it's a direct hit as the light reflects around in the cabin.

It's a Federal offence, and a $200 fine.

It's good when you can catch them in the act... just like everything else I guess.
