Re: DIAMOND-RH771 Antenna where to get in Perth ??
Robbage is right: consider buying online, particularly the Nagoya brand. The gear's so cheap you can try out a few different antennas. If it's a case of 'only the Diamond', then try Strictly Ham at www.strictlyham.com.au. They're in Melbourne but the freight on something like a handheld antenna will...

Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements
I was going by the use of 136.2 - the only users of that frequency I've heard in 20+ years of milair scanning is the Roulettes.
126.2 is commonly used by RAAF over here.
As I always say on this forum, I'm happy to stand corrected.

Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements
Didn't hear any callsigns, but the only users I've previously heard on 136.2 have been the Roulettes.
Plus the use of the 'go' instruction was very Roulettes-esque.

Sounds like the Roulettes are in town for the RBAR and are practising on 136.2.

Re: West Swan Landing Strip
It was known as Caversham. It hasn't been used for some decades, and was used as a racetrack until the 60s. It's currently earmaked for housing.
Re: FS: VHF (66-88 MHz) Handheld Transceiver with extras
Let me take this opportunity to say that I have known rustynswrail for over 20 years, and there are few people in this country more knowledgeable about scanning than him. There would be no-one more aware of responsible - and legal - radio use, and no-one more eager to promote responsible - and legal...

A very busy night for the SES: heard just about all their UHF frequencies in use. Also heard a reference to 'Channel 104'. I think this is 468.675 - the old WAPOL Channel 34.

Re: I cant seem to pick up Perth or Jandakot airports. Any ideas
Well an outdoor antenna is better than any kind of indoor antenna, so that's a good start. Hard to say, but don't be surprised if you can pick up the aircraft, but not the controllers. The planes have the advantage of being airborne, so they have elevation and a better line-of-sight with your antenn...

Re: I cant seem to pick up Perth or Jandakot airports. Any ideas
Start with two frequencies: 118.7 (departures) and 123.6 (approach). These are busy and will give you an idea of whether you can hear anything.
If you can use and external antenna, do so. A hand-held with the supplied antenna will be hard-pressed to pick up much in the way of signal if it's indoors.

Re: FESA frequencies
Just heard the helitacs nominate WAERN Ch 363 (161.175 simplex) as a 'tactical' frequency: they're using it for aircraft-to-aircraft comms.
