Re: legality of calling ambulances
Probably not the best way to do it... but if you find yourself in an ambulance and REALLY dont want to pay the bill, you can always give the ambo a false name. Im not aware of any law against it. Then after you've been triaged at hospital you can just say "hey nurse, i just remembered... my nam...

Re: Who can pull you over?

Yes, i would imagine so Can a council ranger pull you over to check that the dog you're carrying in your car is regis...

Re: Who can pull you over?
Local government rangers are empowered to stop vehicles under section 38(7) of the Control of Vehicles (Off-road Areas) Act 1978 if they reasonably believe the driver or the vehicle has contravened a provision of that Act. For example, if your committing an offence while driving in your 4x4 in the ...

Re: POLICE EVACUATION
That provision is mirrored in the Bush Fires Act also... BUSH FIRES ACT 1954 - SECT 14B 14B . Powers of authorised persons during authorised periods (1) In this section — affected area means the area specified in an authorisation as the area affected by the relevant bush fire; authorisation means an...

Re: Emergency Fire Escort
Yehhh I thought that was the case. Only their OIC is a police officer, right? The rest are appointed as traffic escort wardens under s7 of the RTA and the Road Traffic (Wardens) Regulations?

Thanks AO11912, so the WAPOL vehicles with 'Traffic Escort' on the side are driven by police officers, not wardens?

Gents, does anyone know if (private) pilot vehicles are permitted to disobey red signals at traffic lights... like WAPOL traffic escort wardens do?
