The reason it is out of the sky for so long is it goes back to Japan for major servicing.

Well at least it used to. Not to sure if this is still the case.. I will try and confirm asap.

The MDT's are being tested in the MIDLAND area at the moment and a few vehicles there are fitted with them

i had a chance to check out the MDT's while out at midland the other day.. Great bits of gear. Hopefully it will make tasking more efficent and the local plods lives abit easier.. Im all for advancment. Americans have had this for years. I think they have been using it for quite a while in NSW aswell.

Yes I remember sitting in VKI one night (My dad used to be a shift Sgt and acting duty inspector up there) and 2 people jumped in front of trains in the space of about 2 hours...

Not Nice at all..

Sad.. It was a country P plater. 18 years old. Its believed he was lost and reading a road map and crept forward onto the tracks as a result the train struck the car and resulted in the driver of the car being killed. The Driver of the train is being treated for shock and there are no further injury...

Yeah its been reported as a fatal.. Never a nice situation for anyone involved..

My thoughts go out to the family. And the poor train driver thats really got to mess with your head.
