he doesnt have to go around proving himself to anyone even the 'other' coppers. If he has nothing to hide (i.e. he really is a Police Officer) then he should have no problem providing credentials to a fellow officer. Its been my experience online its only those who are claiming to be what they are ...

Geez, you would catch more people by not telling em... The add wont deter crims, it will just make them more cautious. Ever heard of proactive policing (vice reactive)? Policing isn't all about catching crims when they commit an offence. Its also about detering/preventing people from committing off...
