To be sure, this is non trunked right? as in if you put in all the current police frequencies that are on the new digital (yes i know you cant listen normally) if they went unencrypted again it still wouldnt pick up right? or am i completely confused?

It appears to be a security company, there is sometimes a tone before and after the conversation that i can hear, ill post a sample tonight.

Strange.

I found a frequency on my normal analog scanner. 507.5500 yet when I put it into the Digital (UBC996T) scanner it wont recieve the transmissions?? What am I doing wrong here?

Take a listen to it, if you look at a normal wave length, (sort of like a heartbeat..) flip it around and thats what it sounds like.

Swan towing is using some sort of voice scrambler, pretty sure its reversing the audio in some way.

Expected a caution? Nope. Would have made an interesting day in court though, I've got the spare time and the inclination to fight those kind of things. At Home (oh and couldn't resist showing a real notebook) Marto - what program do you use to record scanner audio? I use VRS and find it really easy and reliable. I didn't really have any recording software and wasn't sure what to try so at the present I am just using CD Spin Doctor from Toast 8. So...

Yeah, the firmware is upgradeable, but i dont know if you could upgrade it to access MPT1327 trunking system, in theory you could if it uses the same frequencies.
