Re: General fire discussions
Just heard Canning Vale turn out to a DBA in their district with Duncraig as backup? Is there some big incident going on that has occupied every station closer than Duncraig? Any other reason why this would be the case? Sometimes when multiple stations are involved in group training or large exerci...

Re: WA Police Changeover to Digital Radio
Hhmm... hard to believe an apparently new article that refers to FESA, which hasn't existed for quite some time, and uses the term "police scanner".

Re: FESA frequencies
Anyone else having reception issues with DFES on their scanners? For a few days now i've not been receiving anything on the WAERN (VHF-high) channels, only on the old 78mHz (VHF-mid) channels?? Is there a problem with the WAERN network??

Re: Major structure fires (3rd alarm+) 2013/14
They base it on the number of pumps that where/are required. Hence you had pumps from Welshpool 1st and Belmont, therefore classified a 2nd Alarm. 3.4 and 2.4 aren't considered pumps. Not entirely correct. Bush Fire brigades don't generally have 'pumps' but incidents are still classified under the ...

Re: FESA frequencies
Having Bunbury appliances come up on 6AR on a daily basis, seems to have followed on from the establishment of the second career FRS crew (Bunbury 2nd) in April last year, in addition to the existing career crew and the Bunbury VFRS.

Re: Incident in Wanneroo/Hocking
If anyone could send me the photos and or videos of the house burning down as I used to live in that house and my step dad died there. It will be very much appreciated. Hi Jacko, you may not have noticed but this topic is 7 years old. Most of the members posting in the topic no longer visit this fo...

Bassendean No More
I'm not sure when the change over officially occurred, but I have heard several times now the former Bassendean career FRS crews now turning out as Kiara. Therefore, with the forced closure of Bassendean 2nd VFRS (along with Guildford VFRS) in October, and the recent relocation of Bassendean Station...

Re: General fire discussions
Is this somehow illegal? Apparently not. This was discussed recently, see the following post; http://warsug.info/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=7075&p=106174&hilit=illegal#p106175. Using info heard on a scanner is not in itself a problem, as long as you are not committing a criminal act in the ex...

I heard lots of motorbikes heading up GEH through Greenmount about an hour ago. Maybe there is a club "ride" on today?

Re: RESCUE 65 Observations
Just watched the big yellow version of Rescue 65 (VH-EWA) on approach in to RPH. I therefore presume she is back in operation.

Re: FESA ON SES
Hi Clarky. Firstly, FESA no longer exists, it is now DFES (the Department of Fire & Emergency Services). Secondly, what you are refering to is probably 6AR which is the DFES Communications Centre (ComCen). They communicate with all of the emergency services at various times so you may have heard...

Re: RESCUE 65 Observations
does anyone have any idea when the RAC chopper is back online? haven't seen or heard anything from them lately. The "RAC chopper" (Rescue 65) hasn't been offline. Whilst the yellow helicopter (VH-EWA) has been in Queensland for maintenance/service, another helicopter has been filling the ...
