WA Radio Scanner Users' Group

Auntys_eyes, note I've already said that I know they're under the banner hence I'm well aware what it stands for.

I'm talking about how they're defined in the act.

AFP Uniformed Protection (formerly APS) live down that way...

I know they're under the AFP banner, but I saw some wearing the high visibility vests with "POLICE" on the back. I swear someone is going to get confused one day. They're looking more and more like WAPOL and they're not police.

Are you talkin about BP down in East Perth where all the Protective Service Officers hang out? Must be some important people going in and out of there.

I thought it was good... but how annoyed would ya be at work tomorrow if you were that Daniel guy... or Craig... or Daniel??? :o

I think those shows are great, but I definitely wouldn't wanna be pulled over and have my face shown all over Australia being made out as an idiot.

I wouldn't have ...

Border Secuirty and The Force are produced by Seven under its news banner.

As far as I'm aware different laws apply to news and current affairs programs when it comes to release forms etc.

News footage can be used as is without release forms unless there are legal restrictions on the people shown ...

Sounds good to me...

So as to answer vk6hgr's question, you're right there is no VSU traffic on the network but that's not to do with the MDT's workin correctly, its just not sent out by the system any more.

Apparently the MDTs are working better, but not 100%. I'm pretty sure firefly56 will agree ...

I haven't heard the traffic so I'm not sure what people are talkin about. Although I can tell you VSU's are not used, only MDT's. Occasionally someone may say something about a VSU, but thats just force of habit.

Btw they might say they don't have a mobile phone on board, but thats nothing to do ...

VSU's haven't been used for ages... the traffic I believe you are talking about are sel-call tests or actually sel-calls. If this is the traffic you mean, they are usually from BFB vehicles on 6IP which as you are aware is currently linked to 6AR.

Arbz

Once again, incorrect.. the SOP's do not state anything to do wtih backup.
(You might want to check the date on those SOP's you're quoting. :D )

I say again:

44 = Not as reported / nothing found
66 = As reported, Minor incident
88 = As reported, Major incident

Alarm classification is used to ...

"Two point four" might sound silly, but it's still used, depends on the person who's holding the radio.

..and even though it's not common, Steve is correct, especially in a regional area.

44 = Not as reported / nothing found
66 = Minor incident
88 = Major incident

Nothing to do with back-up... One unit can deal with an 88 if it has the resources on board. The alarm classification determines units on site...

Plus a two point four is said "Two point four".

Sure did.. what happened in the end?
