Seems a bit funny hey, PTA Transit Guards (Westrail Security Guards was back in the 90's fella) have similar powers to police but yes they are not Police Officers. WAPOL PTU do have access to the PTA Transit Radio Network as PTA Transit Supervisor has access to and a callsign for the WA Police Radio...

As the Transit Guards have access to VKI, the Police Transit Unit have the Railway Security radios in their vehicles. You might find they have CDMA in the ROG and MIG cars. Not realy sure what the second antenna could be for.

That could be the case Fastlane. I didnt get the rego, I just saw and heard it take off right obove our heads. And I heard control say on the radio that a priority 1 medical aircraft was taking off and for all aircraft to standby.

No it appeared to be more of a back-up unit. The RAC chopper was in the shed. I would say they need two units so that if one is out of service then they have another one to use. Because they are on call 24/7 they need to always be available for a job.

I was out at Jandacot Airport yesterday, they actually have two helicopters. One is the obvious yellow RAC chopper and the other is a red/blue and white chopper fitted out the same as RAC1.

When we were taxing back from the runway it took off over out heads.

ROG are the UQ100+ cars.

Police Transit Unit are UQ200+cars.
