Re: Drink-Boating?

Watching the Police shows from over east on TV and they most certainly can get done for it. Remember The Force episode from a while back from a Skyshow? They stopped a drunk skipper and he took off and his little dingy and they pursued? They caught up with him at a later date and I'm sure he was ch...

Re: News about new 80ch UHF CB

Oh, so the new channels are receive only? I found the iCom Pro-400 holds an extra 48 channels (88 in total). I'm confused by all this, think I'm going to keep my Uniden UHF for the moment.. The ic400pro can be programmed to accept the new CB channels (tx/rx) so you won't need to upgrade that at all...

Re: Drink-Boating?

I think I heard on the radio the other day that the police are pushing to make this law in WA.
I think we're the only state that it's not illegal to be pissed when driving a boat.

Of course, I could be wrong. I did hear something about it though.

Re: Suggestions for a UHF Handheld.

If funds are an issue you could look at some of the models on eBay. You can get some from China for around $100 each - 5w. There is one called the OMDI-40Ch UHFCB that is programmed only to Australian UHF CB channels, although I'm sure it could be reprogrammed if you needed to do it later down the t...

Re: Antenna Setup - Help Please

I'd go even better than RG213 if you can afford it, especially for UHF.

For airband RG213 would probably be OK, depending on the feed length though of course. I'd stay as far away as possible from RG58

Re: Antenna Setup - Help Please

Looks fantastic - where is the apartment block located?

Don't skimp out on the cable. Make sure you buy good quality low loss stuff, but I'm sure you already planned to do that :)

Yes. an iPhone without a jailbreak is like using a brick that makes calls.
JB is the way to go. I am on iOS 4.1 and JB'd it with Limera1n.

There's quite an active thread on http://forums.whirlpool.net.au if you want more info.

Re: Firefox 3

I'm not a fan of Chrome, regardless of the EULA I just don't like the layout. The one upside of Chrome is that it plays Flash objects extremely fast. I used to play those crappy addictive Facebook games for a while there and Chrome was so much better for that than Firefox is. I don't play them anymo...
