Re: General fire discussions

It's likely the MGRS, the Military Grid Reference System. A six figure grid allows one to identify a position to within 100m within a 100x100km box.

So the Midland 'shop is still in occasional operation? I think it had shut down.

Thanks for the picture!

Re: General and Off Topic Pictures

But how do they get them there? I'm assuming the railcars are transported across the Nullabor on standard gauge bogies, but the line to Nowergup is narrow gauge.

Very nice! Where do they swap the bogies these days now that the Midland workshops are closed?

A VFS is a combination of a VFRS brigade and a BFB brigade. It has the roles and responsibilities of both.

Re: St John Ambulance WA Student Paramedic Fitness test

At a guess, I'd say regular push-ups. If you're not good at those, check out http://www.hundredpushups.com/ - there's a excellent and easy training program available for free on there, it's certainly helped me with fitness tests in the past.

Good luck!

These weren't hop-on, hop-off busses. They were coaches, and went from Mandurah to Perth almost nonstop.
