Re: The usual suspects from Perth & Fremantle

To clear things up; MP 69 is and always has been the Series 4 MP Standby. More then likely would've been standing by at Osbourne Park. MP 70 is the former Kwinana VFRS pump which is now also a Series 4 MP Standby. MP 70 has been based at Perth for the past 2 weeks as Perth 2nd and will be for a whil...

Re: Severe weather alerts

Wanneroo must be in its own unique completely different weather / climate system/conditions to the rest of the metro area. If still in catastrophic fire conditions (drove past your warning signs several times yesterday) how can you task resources to York yesterday? Isn't this putting pressure on ot...

Re: Kalamunda shire Fire crews

They are paid shire employees. Predominantly they are employed to make the Shire safe - they do a lot of brushcutting and some HR burns on Shire lands. They also do inspections of properties and enforce work orders etc and when there is a fire that the BFS are called to in the Shire, they'll attend...

Re: W.A Fire Appliances

All new LTs are coming out with LED mini-lightbars now. Saw Moorine Rock's new LT with the LEDs at the Firefighter of the Year awards, as well as Dumbleyung's new Series III HSR on a 750 (?) chassis. (Replacing the Series II on the 550 chassis.) Several BFS LTs have been sitting at workshops for th...

Re: Warradarge VBFB

Mate, look above the drivers door in the second pic of the 3.4. Those two silver trumpets look alot like airhorns! ...

Re: How fast ??

All BFS heavy appliances manufactured from approximately 2007- have as far as i know a governer which is disabled when the vehicle is travelling under firecall conditions. It only is deactivated when lights and siren are working, not just lights. Any vehicle built prior to that as far as im aware wo...
